Company Presentation

By: Slo Business Club January, 2024

Where or how did you get the idea for your company?

The business idea was originally conceived by my father in the 1980s. With his forward-thinking mindset, he recognized the market potential in the area of final protection for metal components. He brought his idea to life by purchasing a small, older production line, which he set up in one of the rooms of an inherited old house. The first offered service was galvanizing metal components. Later, he specialized in the process of chemical nickel plating, which remains the company’s core activity to this day. My brother Erik and I took over the management of the company three years ago.

What are your goals and vision for the company by 2030?

Our company’s goals include maintaining the satisfaction of our employees and business partners, as well as remaining the leading Slovenian provider of chemical nickel plating. One of our primary objectives is to operationalize a new automatic production line with triple the capacity of the current one and expand into additional foreign markets as early as next year. Another significant goal is to introduce the service of chemical nickel plating for aluminum components, thereby broadening our service portfolio.

Why did you become a member of SBC - The Slovenian Business Club?

A friend of mine from SBC suggested I join. Of course, I didn’t think about it for long and quickly became a member myself. At the very first meeting, I recognized the club’s qualities and met successful people with whom I exchanged contacts. Networking and sharing opinions and experiences among top entrepreneurs positively impacts the growth and development of our company.

Would you dare to describe a business mistake you learned the most from?

One of the bigger mistakes years ago was hiring a person as a director who turned out to be a self-serving individual.

What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs looking to embark on a similar business journey?

If you don’t try, you’ll never know, so they shouldn’t overthink and should go ahead with realizing their business idea. Through ups and downs, they will learn a lot and develop both personally and professionally.

What achievement in your company are you most proud of?

We are most proud of our team, which performs its work practically without complaints, and our long-standing relationships with Slovenian and foreign business partners who have recognized the quality of our services and remain loyal to us.

What has brought you the most satisfaction in managing your company?

Working hard and adapting to make our clients happy with fast and high-quality service, thus maintaining a professional relationship with our partners.

How do you maintain motivation and concentration at work?

I don’t see business as work but as a hobby that constantly presents new challenges. Solving them keeps me motivated. At 26, my concentration hasn’t waned yet, but spending time with friends and engaging in sports activities in the afternoons certainly helps.

What is the best advice you’ve received in your career that you’ve applied to your company?

Always be honest and do everything as if you were doing it for yourself, even if this approach is unfamiliar to some. Another important piece of advice from my father was to reward employees well for their work because without them, there would be no successful business.
